By ROBERT E. BARNES
Special to the Chronicle

Nominations for the Oklahoma Hall of Fame are being accepted until Friday, March 1.
The 86th class of the hall will be announced by the Oklahoma Heritage Association at a luncheon in May, and the induction ceremonies will be held in November.
Those inducted will be featured at the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum, and visitors can look up information on inductees via interactive touch screens.
Anyone can make a nomination, and the nominator does not have to be related to or personally know the individual nominated.
Nominees may be either living or deceased.
An eligible nominee is a person who resides in Oklahoma or is a former resident of the state, and who has performed outstanding service to humanity, to the state and to the nation.
Also, an eligible nominee must have demonstrated his or her generosity with his or her time and commitment to the Oklahoma community.
Individuals who have never resided in Oklahoma are eligible to be nominated if they have been distinguished in their profession, or if their public service has brought honor or distinction to Oklahoma, or contributed to the state’s heritage.
Nominations should include information about the nominee’s education, business and professional affiliations, awards or special recognitions, philanthropic involvement and volunteerism, as well as leadership positions.
Information on the nominee’s ties to Oklahoma, as well as his or her unique talents in the nominee’s field should also be included.
Nomination forms and posthumous nomination forms can be downloaded at oklahomaheritage.com under the “Hall of Fame” tab.
A list of past inductees can be found at the same website.
Completed nomination forms must be received at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, 1400 Classen Dr., Oklahoma City, Okla. 73106, not later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 1.
Millie Craddick may be contacted for additional information.
