He’s to Help Make Merit Scholar Selections

STILLWATER—Dr. William “Bill” Pink, vice president of academic affairs at Oklahoma State University, has been named to the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Selection Committee.
The National Merit Scholarship Corp. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to identifying high school and undergraduate college students with academic talent and awarding them with scholarships based on merit.
Since its founding in 1955, the organization has recognized 2.9 million students and provided more than 377,000 scholarships valued at an estimated $1.5 billion.
“Most education circles understand the prestige of students being selected for the scholarship,” Dr. Pink said. “To be one of the individuals chosen to select these students was, indeed, an honor.”
Dr. Pink is the first from OSU to serve on the committee.
